Course Format

Setting up your Moodle course, the default course given to you is set for 4 topics. Under the settings there are several options

Change the look and feel of your course of your course. 

  • One Topic - Shows each topic in a tab, keeping the current tab between calls to resources, in such a way that when it returns format  module as the blog or the glossary it returns to tab from where you started. 
  • Single Activity - The single activity format only has 1 section, and allows the teacher to add one activity only to the course 
  • Social Format - This format is oriented around one main forum, which appears listed on the main page. 
  • Tiles Format - The tiles format displays course topics as “Tiles” rather than as a list.
  • Topics Format - (Default) The course is organized into topic section that a teacher can give titles to Each topic section consists of activities, resources and labels
  • Weekly Format - Course is organized week by week, with each section having a date heading. 

How to change the course format

  1. Login to your course and from the course main page click on Settings at the top of the page.

  1. Scroll down and click on Course format to expand the section
  2. Select the format you wish to choose (depending on which you choose, there may be more options such as color or images)
  3. Click on Save and display when finished
