Import Course Content

Move course content from one to another on the same Moodle server

This process will only work if the courses are on the same Moodle server. (i.e. moodle.kellogg.edu to moodle.kellogg.edu OR moodledev.kellogg.edu to moodledev.kellogg.edu) 

Step 1: Login to the NEW (empty/blank) course you want to import your content into. 

Step 2: At the top of the course new course

  1. Click on More
  2. Then click on Course reuse

Step 3: Select import towards the top left of the page

Step 4: Locate the course where the content currently lives (where you are getting the content from)

  1. Click on the course you want to import from
  2. Click on Continue

Step 5: You have two options here (All or Some): 

 

Option 1 ALL -  Jump to final step, this will import all the Activities and Resources from one Moodle course to the other. 

  • Once finished, go to Step 5: click Continue - the import process is over.

Option 2 Some - Next this will allow you to choose as few as one activity or resource or as many as all and any combination between the two. Simply uncheck what you do not want copied into the new course. Click on Next when finished.

Verify the activities and resources you wish to import, click on Perform import at the bottom of the page. 

Step 5: Click on Continue, this will take your new course with the content imported.
