How to save a Microsoft Word document as a PDF

There are a few ways to save a word document as a PDF. If you are using images in the document, sometimes it saves a lot of space by printing as a PDF rather than saving. Below you will find both options to either save or print as a PDF.  

Once you have your document typed in Microsoft Word, click on File located at the top left corner.

Option 1 : Download PDF

Once you have your document typed in Microsoft Word, click on File located at the top left corner.

  1. Click on Save as 
  2. Select Download as PDF

  1. Click on Download when your document is ready
  2. Open the File Explorer and navigate to the Downloads folder

Option 2: Print as PDF

Once you have your document typed in Microsoft Word, click on File located at the top left corner.

  1. Click on Print
  2. Click on Print this document

Depending on the browser you are using, things might be a little different

Chrome 

  1. Select the Destination by changing it to Save as PDF
  2. Click on the Save button at the bottom of the page
  3. From the pop-up file explorer window option to change the Name of the file.
  4. Finally click on Save

Edge

  1. Click on the Print button at the bottom of the page
  2. From the pop-up file explorer window option to change the Name of the file.
  3. Finally click on Save

FireFox  

Once the file was completed, you will need to click on Open PDF, which will open another browser tab and allow you to either Print or Download the PDF file.
